Aerial is an IPTV player for TVs and tablets. It plays your own M3U or Xtream playlist and shows a full TV guide from your own XMLTV source.

Before you write in

Most problems are one of these.

"No channels after adding my playlist." Check the address in a browser. If it downloads a file starting with #EXTM3U, Aerial can read it. If your provider issues a get.php link, use it exactly as given, including &type=m3u_plus.

"The guide is empty, or stops partway through." Settings › TV guide & EPG shows how many programmes are stored and when they were last updated. If the last update is old, the guide source is failing; Refresh EPG now will say why.

"A channel buffers or will not play." Try Settings › Playback › Engine. Aerial ships two: the platform's own player, and mpv. Some streams work in one and not the other. The player's ⋯ menu can switch engine for one channel.

"Recording stopped early." Settings › Recording shows free space. Aerial refuses to start a recording it cannot fit and warns when space is low, but a stream that drops for long enough will end one early. The recordings list marks those as failed rather than complete.

"I forgot my parental PIN." There is no back door: the PIN is stored as a salted hash and cannot be recovered. Reinstalling the app clears it, along with everything else on the device.

Sending diagnostics

Settings › About › Diagnostics writes a log bundle and tells you where. User names, passwords and tokens are stripped before anything is written, so it is safe to send. Please include what you were doing and the channel involved.

What Aerial does not do

It supplies no content of any kind. It ships with no playlists, suggests none, and cannot find channels for you. If you do not have a playlist you are entitled to use, Aerial has nothing to show.
